My aha moment started 25 years ago but my dream came to reality within the past 2 years. Through many events in my life I’ve had to overcome challenges as loss. It was through these challenges that I had my “aha” moment. The premise and my efforts are very simple. I want to provide relief to families, while there children are undergoing medical treatment for serious illness. I provide a simple break from the whirlwind that families find themselves in when finding out that their child is sick. I, along with some dedicated volunteers, visit children in hospitals dressed as storybook characters. For a moment everyone in the hospital room including the medical staff forget where they are and the wonderful childhood fantasy begins. Sometimes the magic is for an hour and sometimes it’s only for a moment but the relief is there! Just like magic. This is a work in progress and truly something that I’ve been called to do.
