The school year was coming to an end and baseball season had just started for my two boys, Parker 11yrs and Conner 6 yrs. I sat down at work one day to set my calendar. There were baseball games, baseball practices, church activities, school activities, family outings, and so much more. My little calendar was filling up day after day with new dates. Then one day, I received a phone call from Conner's kindergarten teacher. He was having problems with his legs. After much debate, I decided to take him to the doctor. They admitted us into the hospital and 48 hours later, Conner was diagnosised with Leukemia. Several days later sitting in his hospital room, I find my little calendar. There were all those "important" activities I had spent hours planning out. My aha moment was when I realized, you have to take life one day at a time. You have to enjoy every moment and every opportunity life gives you. I had complained about having too much to do but now I wish I could go back to that "normal" life. Now my little calendar is filled with doctor appointments and blanks. I am living one day at a time and enjoying every moment I have with my family and friends.
